Letchworth State Park Trip (July 2008)
September 3, 2008
Even though my family and I made a trip to Letchworth State Park near the end of July (2008), I’m just now getting a chance to post some photos!…due to it being in the middle of wedding season (I’m a wedding photographer) an’ all..
This was our first Summer family trip in a few years due to how busy my wife and I are with our various businesses during the Summer. We saw a small opening in our schedules and promptly jumped on the web and made reservations to stay in a cabin at Letchworth State Park. It set us back a little–in terms of time and money–but it was well worth it!
Some call Letchworth the “Grand Canyon of the East”. It definitely has some great vistas. It also has lots of trails and an olympic-size pool. Our cabin was quite small and had no running water (water, bathrooms, and a laundry room were less than 100 feet away), but it had electricity and we brought a fan for some nice air circulation. We walked trails, went swimming and biking, did some sightseeing, read some books, and generally had a wonderfully recreative time…:-) .
All in all, it was a good break from our typically hectic work and home lives…and even though it put us a little behind, it was well worth it…:-) .
You can see a slide show of photos from our trip by clicking the photo below.
July 4th Weekend at the Lake
July 9, 2008
My family and I spent the July 4th weekend at my wife’s family’s cottage on the lake. It’s a 3-hour drive from our house, so it really feels like “getting away”! The kids got to see and play with their cousins for hours and hours in the lake, and a good time was had by all. This lake has amazing sunsets almost every evening and you’ll see a few of those in the slide show I put together.
Note: there’s one photo of me (that my wife took) in the slide show…unshaved and wearing a “stylish” sun hat. If you’re one of my wedding clients, don’t worry, I would at least wear a black sun hat while photographing your wedding…;-)
